Positive: Absolutely stunning house with the most perfect host, Amila. So many good things to say about Villa Joe. First off, it's literally walking distance from Dubrovnik airport which may seem like a concern but at no point in the holiday did the sound of aeroplanes cause us an issue. What it does mean is there's no long transfer once you arrive - which is especially welcome on the day you're flying home. The Villa itself is incredible. The pictures on Booking.com look good but even they don't do it justice. Everything is incredibly well appointed and thought out. By far and away the best holiday home we've ever stayed in. Amila, who owns the property, could not have been more helpful, welcoming and accommodating. From arranging transfers to and from the airport, to giving us home grown grapes and figs and complimentary bottles of wine - she is one in a million. She worked so hard to ensure the house and pool area remained clean throughout our stay and for this we were extremely grateful. The nearest area for shops and eateries is Cavtat (pronounced Tsavtat) which is a beautiful harbour about a five minute drive away in an Uber. Lots of places to sup a pint or a cocktail as you admire the super yachts that are moored there. There's also a small supermarket and a very good restaurant called Domestico about a ten minute walk from the villa. We got a boat from Cavtat to Dubrovnik old town which is definitely worth a visit but perhaps best on a slightly cooler day as it gets very busy - especially on days when there are cruise ships in port. Overall, a great place in a lovely location which we would recommend without hesitation.
Negative: I wish we could have walked into Cavtat but it was a bit too far - other than that, nothing.
