Positive: The location is beautiful, especially watching the sunset over the fields and listening to the birds. Also very close to the village of Haarzuilens where there 2 restaurants so you can easily walk or bike there for food. Room and bathroom were large and had everything you could need. The owner was very friendly. The provided breakfast was ample- yoghurt, granola, fruit, juice, eggs, cheese and bread. And they added thoughtful touches like an extra toothbrush, toothpaste, and feminine products in the bathroom.
Negative: I do wish we had made sure to get the room with floor to ceiling windows as you couldn't see out of ours without standing on a chair. The combo oven microwave was difficult for me to figure out and that was how you cooked your bread in the morning. I had to get the manual out to figure out how to preheat the oven as I had not worked a combo oven like before.
Summary: Beautiful lodging on the outskirts of Utrecht and near the fantastic Castle de Haar
