Casa Bonita is isolated enough where you can quietly relax and feel the refreshing ocean breeze from your private veranda. The sunset views are magnificent! THE SPACE
Casa Bonita is a 2-bedroom, 2-full bathroom condo located in the quiet gated community of Sunset Villa.
Each spacious bedroom is set up with a comfortable king-size bed, and plenty of storage.
The open concept living room - dining room - kitchen is the ultimate hangout space! Here you'll find plenty of seating, large counters, and abundant cabinet space. The kitchen is fully equipped.
If you are tired of the comforts of home that Casa Bonita has to offer: air conditioning, and high-speed fiber optic Wi-Fi, and cable TV, then step outdoor onto the veranda and listen for the Macaws as they fly overhead between 7:30AM – 9AM, enjoy the views of the ocean, pool, and jungle.
The veranda is equipped with you in mind. It has a large gas BBQ grill, large outdoor dining table that seats six, lounge chairs, and a hammock to ease you into a state of relaxation.
FREE GUEST ACCESS - MAYA PRINCESS RESORT
As a guest of Casa Bonita you have free access to the Mayan Princess Resort's located in West Bay. Enjoy the luxury pool, restaurants (food & drinks for purchase), and beach loungers. Casa Bonita is only one of a handful of hosts that offers access to the Maya Princess Resort. To get there, take a fun quick ride on a water taxi. ELECTRICITY
The daily room rate does not include electricity. Roatan Electric Company (RECO) usually charges north of .45 kWh during a given twelve-month period. Compare that to the US mainland where the cost is 10.79 cents to 31.32 cents per kWh (as of 08/07/2023) depending on the state. The average rate is 16.14 cents.
As you can see, electricity is quite expensive on Roatan. Rather than charging you a flat fee for air conditioning, laundry, etc it is fairer to charge for the actual electricity used. We would rather provide lower room rates and let our guests self-regulate their electrical usage. Moderately running the bedrooms’ air conditioning at night can cost anywhere from $8-$14 USD a day.
We are the first to do this in Sunset Villas and are proud that others are following our example as we believe this to be fairest for our guests. We calculate your electrical charge by reading the meter at check-in and check-out. The difference is then multiplied by 50 cents per kWh. Payment can be made in cash, Venmo, PayPal, or through the rental platform.
Tips: Turn-off lights and air conditioning when not in the room\building. Close door and windows when running the air conditioners.
Like any Caribbean Island, Roatan is subject to power outages, though less frequent compared to the past.
Always remember to close all facets, and showers when not in use, including during electrical outages.

AIRPORT
If you need a ride from and to the airport, please contact Vanessa with flight information so she can arrange your transportation. The typical cost from the airport is $25, or $35 which includes a stop at the grocery store (we recommend Eldon's Supermarket).
CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT
Check-in Time is 3:00PM – 9:00PM. There are days we can accommodate early arrivals. We charge $15 an hour/$10 half hour up until 3PM. Please give us advance notice.
Check-out Time is before 11:00AM. Please let Vanessa know two days in advance to arrange airport transportation and a meter reading.
DRINKING WATER
Casa Bonita is equipped with a cold water dispenser. We provide at no cost two full 5-gallon jugs of water. Should you need more, please contact Vanessa.
