Positive: A little gem of a hotel close to the centre of Celle, hidden behind cutely decorated wooden doors, where we were made very welcome from the moment we set foot through the door. Our room was located on the first floor, with the window overlooking the off-street garden, which also had plentiful tables and chairs for guests to enjoy the peace and quiet - even the little robot lawn mower was quiet, while it went about cutting the grass. The patio is sheltered, so you can still enjoy the garden should it be raining. For breakfast, which was an optional additional charge to the room, we enjoyed the typical German Continental offerings, washed down with coffee and fresh fruit juices. Fresh bread, cold meats, cheese, along with a variety of other toppings were available, along with cereals and fruit and yoghurt. The dining area was wonderfully decorated, and if you're visiting, be sure to look at the chandelier - it will definitely make you smile! The room was bright and airy, and the bed was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the modern bathroom, with all the usual amenities, and there were coffee/tea making facilities in the room, which we appreciated.
Negative: When booking the hotel, I hadn't noticed that only cash or EC-Card payments are accepted, but thankfully this wasn't a problem, as we were able to draw money while visiting Celle town centre. Just wanted guests to be aware that your Visa/Mastercard won't be accepted here, so just be prepared. I wouldn't say I didn't like it, it just caught me unawares!
Summary: A very cute hotel, set in surroundings much nicer than that of a chain hotel.
