Summary: I stay here every time I come to Reno. I lived here for many years so I don't need a high class glam experience when I visit. It is centrally located near the lives and the Truckee River. Front desk staff is always outstandingly friendly and helpful to me, very welcoming. The neighborhood is a little sketchy, I would not be walking around alone at 2 or 3 AM. It is nice and quiet, and most of us are alert and conscious of our surroundings in any urban area. There is no on-site parking, however as a guest you get a free parking pass at CalNeva, about a block away. The views from the higher floors are beautiful. Rooms are old but spacious and clean. And, importantly in my mind, there is no daily resort fee, which can run an extra $30-$60 per day at casino/resorts.
