200 m2 gorgeous aristocratic apartment in a 19th century building in the traditional Madrilenian architectural style in a small street facing one of the entrance to the amazing Plaza Mayor witch is at 20 meters from our balconies. This apartment was home to the Marquis of Matilla it has high and plastered decorated ceilings with a living room and dinning area, studio and lounge accounting for 100 m2, it has also tree bedrooms being two of them suites with the W. C. Included.
It accommodates 6 people, 4 in the two suites in double bed and another two in the former studio area (40m2) within to single beds, this studio area has its own living area and desk.
2 bathrooms, one of them with bath (and shower), the other one with shower.
Fully equipped big kitchen with all mod cons (fridge and freezer, dishwasher, oven, microwave) and top appliances.
Fully equipped laundry closet in the main bedroom with washer, dryer, iron and ironing board.
Well spacious and well lit open living areas: dining (large table for 6 people), lounge: TV, International TV channels, DVD player, music station (CD player, jack for iPod), working or reading space with nice size table.

Unbeatable location!, apart from the famous Plaza Mayor at 20 meters, you will find also Puerta del Sol within 250 meters with is the heart of Madrid and main communication hub with trains, underground and busses to all the town and region and only 4 underground stops to Atocha main Madrid train station where you can take the famous AVE (fast train) to almost all the country. We are in the oldest part of Madrid called Austrias Quartier and we are walking distance to the Royal Opera house, The Royal Palace, The Cathedral, Palacio Santa Cruz, and main museums such as El Prado, Reina Sofia, Thyssen Bornemiza, Academia de San Fernando, and also the two best conventions worth visiting: La Encarnacion and Las Descalzas Reales.
In terms of shopping at Puerta de Sol and Preciados street you could find all the main general stores and shops.
This area of Madrid is popular also for cinemas an theaters, many of them showing Musicals shows, being Madrid nowdays the 3rd town in the world in offer after NYC and London for this kind of shows.
The area is also full of restaurants, many of them with more of 200 years of history where you can find all the traditional Spanish food and more specifically the Castilian dishes.
Austrias is charming, full of small streets and squares that bring you to the 16th century as the majority of the area is being pedestrianized, bars, coffee shops, etc. the area is always busy and with a very international crowd.
