Positive: The apartment is in the middle of beautiful lush garden a short hike from a little beach in a sheltered cove. Groceries are a 15 minute walk from the apartment, but you really can’t stay here without renting a car. We were here during the off-season, and as it turned out the only ones in a building that has five separate units. The host, Corrado could not have been more kind, generous, welcoming, and despite a series of headaches that made us several hours late from our planned arrival, he stayed around, waiting for us despite his own pressure to get to his job. When we arrived to his apartment without a rental car, he insisted on taking us into Ventimiglia the following morning to get another one, a very generous gesture on his part. Yes, it is along the train line and under the freeway, but we did not find either of these in any way intrusive or too loud or disruptive in our four day stay in this sweet little spot.

Negative: The circular stairs inside the unit are treacherous and would benefit from a more secure railing at top as it was loose. Also the weak cellular signal was very frustrating to travelers who are also working and depend on a reliable WiFi network but that seems as much an issue of the location rather than the particular router or hub in the apartment.
