'Sawyers Lodge' was originally built in the 1920's and was known as the G.C. Sawyer Hunting and Fishing Lodge. This beautiful home is listed in Preservation NC, which promotes and protects the buildings and landscapes of our state's diverse heritage! If you are a history buff, this is the place for you! It has been lovingly restored into a 5-bedroom, 4 bath retreat that could be featured in Country Living! Original details like hardwood floors and beadboard walls are still intact, yet blend seamlessly with the updated kitchen and bathroom areas. In addition, there are 2 family living areas as well as a dining room, and a family friendly screened porch! To top it off, outdoor spaces are plentiful with 5 decks, including one off of the master suite! Your private saltwater swimming pool awaits. . . or perhaps you would prefer the hot tub to soak the day away. Oh, and don't worry about having to come across the bridge to get your house keys, you will be provided with a keyless entry code prior to your 4pm arrival.
The home has access to a boat launch area and a large, private dock for your boat and other water toys! Perfect for canoeing and kayaking, enjoy the harbor and tributaries throughout the sound where wildlife and nature abound! It is recommended that larger boats use the boat launch at Sound Park, 8955 Caratoke Hwy. Please note, locals use this boat access, as well.
