Positive: The location was great, quiet courtyard right near Piazza San Marco. Venice was obviously busy but you could still find quiet streets to wander in. City was beautifully free from litter. Very rare to see any on the streets or floating in the water. Back in UK we saw more in 5 minutes than we saw whole week in Venice. We in the UK should be ashamed of our cities and waterways. Room was fine. Bathroom very clean, shower was powerful. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Everyone on reception (Artemis) helped us with our queries and lent an adaptor as we'd forgotten ours. Sarah, the lady who oversaw breakfast, was so kind & very patient with our limited Italian.

Negative: Fan not provided in room unless you request it. Feel that if Venice doesn't allow aircon til May it would be good if the hotel supplied fans. We didn't realise the mozzie plug-in wasn't plugged it til day 3 so when we kept the windows open overnight I got eaten by mozzies. We didn't realise Booking had already taken the tourist tax so we paid it again at the hotel on departure. Just bear this in mind if you book through Booking.com.
