Summary: We have just returned from a fabulous 3 night stay in the Guest House Douro and could not have been happier with our decision to stay there. A very unprepossessing exterior gives way to a small gem of a guest house/hotel in an excellent location close to the river front in Ribeira. Our room (402) was comfortable and clean with everything we needed and a gorgeous river view. Rooms in cities do tend to be small but it was not unreasonably so. Breakfast was delicious with an excellent variety of offerings. What really makes this such a delightful place to stay is each and every member of staff, who were all unfailingly helpful and obliging. Shout out particularly to Luiz who was brilliant. If you are going to Porto and like a small bit perfectly formed place to stay you couldn't do better than the Guest House Douro.
