Positive: Beautiful little town, and the apartment delightful. Clean, roomy, nice bathroom. Great location athough most everything was closed on the Sunday/Monday we were there.
Negative: More explicit directions would have been good. I put the address into the GPS, thinking this was Sancerre, but it isn't, it's a town called CHAVIGNOL, more an adjacent village and it took us all over the area until we were stuck in a crossroad of narrow narrow streets. I called the hosts, who only speak French and I speak little. I translated a text and sent it and we got another set of directions, taking us a cheese shop, but turned out there were two cheese shops, so we were in the wrong one. Nice shop owner called the hosts and off again we went and did find the right location with friendly host waiting for us to show how to access keys. The apartment is located UP a very very narrow set of stairs, which was hard for a person with bad knees and hauling up the luggage difficult. The bedroom was located up another even steeper set of stairs to an A frame room - adorable, but hard to stand up in without hitting one's head. I don't remember these attributes being disclosed in the description. A darling place for much younger people - in their 20's - 40's, not in 70's to nearly 80's. The heater controls needed instructions. It was very cold and we could figure out how to get the heater on for one hour at a time. I wouldn't stay here again, but only because my husband has bad knees and is tall. It's really a sweet apartment, once you can find it, for a younger clientele.
