Summary: I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Chateau Elysium. If you are looking for a traditional hotel experience which can be very impersonal, this may not be for you, but if you are looking for a guest house, more personal experience...then this is a perfect spot. The property is set back so it feels very private. The building and grounds are very well maintained. I stayed in room 2 and had a glorious view of Beau Vallon Beach and the Indian Ocean. I loved having coffee on the balcony overlooking the property and beach. The room was not fancy (not a complaint at all) but was very clean. (I would go down for breakfast and the room was cleaned before I returned). There is a wonderful woman who prepares breakfast every morning. Sumptuous fresh tropical fruits, yogurt, juice, coffee, eggs & bacon with toast, etc. (All delicious). On some nights you can pre-order dinner which is all home cooked. The property has 24 hour security and I always felt very safe. It took me 2 minutes to get onto the beach from my room! Lots of restaurants, shops, convenience stores, and more all within walking distance. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here and I am grateful for the entire staff!
