On the southern cape of Messinia, a medieval castle juts picturesquely into the sea like a pointed triangle, with the narrow alleyways and pretty little houses of Koroni nestling against it. To the south-west and north of the village, the fine sandy beaches of Zaga, Memi, Peroulia and Aghios Andreas line the coast for kilometres.
