1 Bedroom Apartment with Kitchen, Laundry and Ocean View

Looking for a quiet, relaxing beachfront place with a pool, fabulous view of the Caribbean, and just a short walk to the Old City? Casa Barbara Cartagena is a modern furnished apartment with AC, hot water, wifi & balcony -- perfect for a couple, a single traveler, or couple of friends! It is my home when in Cartagena but available for longer term visitors when I'm not in town.
'Casa Barbara' is on the 15th floor with a balcony that goes the length of the apartment. You'll love watching the sun set each evening over the Caribbean! You also have a great view north to the Marbella/Crespo area of the coast and beyond, as well as a sneak peak from the balcony at the part of the Old City wall called "La Tenaza."
The building is in the Cabrero district and was built in 2010, has 24 hour reception, two elevators; and a pool (15Mx4M), jacuzzi, sauna, & social area on the 7th floor.
Your bedroom has a queen bed (2 single beds on request), night tables, reading lamps, small desk with chair, full length mirror, a private full bath with walk in closet, floor to ceiling sliding glass doors which lead out to the balcony & hammock just outside the door!
The kitchen is well-stocked for cooking & eating and there is counter seating plus a dining table & chairs. The living area has a nice seating and opens right up to the balcony, where this is a table with chairs. There is a half bath off the living area.
In addition, there is a laundry area with washer/dryer, clothes drying racks & laundry sink.

*Air conditioning (mini-split in each room; many apts only have AC in the bedrooms, so if you want it in other rooms, be sure to ask!)

**INTERACTION WITH GUESTS**
I lived in Cartagena for over two years and would be happy to help in any way I can either via email/phone prior to your arrival or during your stay. In addition, Walter & Tara, a US couple who have lived in Cartagena for 10+ years and who live a 7 minute walk from the apartment, will help as needed while you are there.
House rules:
*No smoking/vaping (not even on the balcony), drugs or pets
*No parties or loud music
*Guests pay for any damages beyond normal wear & tear
*Non-registered guests only with prior permission; no overnight unregistered guests allowed
*I will need to supply the building administration with full names and an ID number (passport or cédula) for all members of your party in order for you to be allowed to enter the building
*Please turn off AC, fans, lights, etc, whenever you leave the apartment
*There is a keyless entry system for the apartment; code will be given to you during the week prior to your check-in.

Summary: My fiancé and I took an extended vacation to Cartagena to celebrate our engagement and booked Casa Barbara as our home away from home. On the 15th floor of a seaside high rise, we woke up every morning to remarkable views of the Caribbean –visible even by barely lifting our heads. We started every day on the spacious balcony complete with hammocks and a dining table. We were equipped with everything we needed to cook and relax in the apartment and were fully prepared to take on the city after reading through the information guide that was provided for us. It answered our questions about safety, food recommendations, must-know local phrases, and helpful hints on how to navigate our new apartment and building. We were met upon arrival by Barbara’s property manager who made moving in seamless, and was available to answer any questions we had throughout our stay. Casa Barbara is just a 15 minute walk outside of the old city, which we frequently enjoyed taking, or is just a short taxi ride away. The concierge at the front desk was happy to call a taxi for us whenever necessary, or one can be hailed on the streets either in front or behind the building. (Tip: We chose to grab a taxi on the street behind the building as it was easier to find one going the direction of the old city, and the traffic is much less hectic.) Casa Barbara was sparking clean, with a beautifully spacious shower and a washer and dryer (huge plus!) as well as an enormous and very comfortable king sized bed- the kind that never lets you forget you’re on vacation, even while you’re sleeping. We can’t wait to come back!
