Positive: Ampeli Villa is a lovely, well appointed detached home with a private pool. The host, Manolis, was there to greet us on arrival and show us around the house and grounds. It has everything needed to make a very relaxed and quiet holiday. The kitchen was fully stocked with equipment and Manolis provided a very lovely welcome pack with everything essential to get our stay off to a great start. Although we were outside most of the time the lounge was perfect for relaxing in. The bedrooms are very comfortable with extra bedding if you should need it. There are plenty of towels for both the bathroom and the pool. Outside, the garden furniture is plentiful on the shaded verandah with very comfortable sun-lounger cushions by the pool. There is a large BBQ which was easy to use. The property is fully enclosed behind remotely operated locked gates. (We did have a problem with the remote not working one day but a quick call to Manolis meant the owner was there within 10 minutes to sort the problem out which was caused by a power cut due to a heavy thunderstorm). There is plenty of parking which is shared by the other, similar, neighbouring properties. There is plenty of space between the houses so there is no disturbance. You are surrounded by fields of olive trees and the odd visit from free-range goats which can't access the garden as it is well fenced. The beach is 15 minutes away on foot or 3 minutes by car. It is stunning! The villa is very central to lots of places to visit although I would recommend a hire car as it is slightly isolated.
Negative: When we first wanted to use the BBQ there wasn't a shelf to place the grill basket over the charcoal but the owner sorted this out straight away for us and we used it a lot. Our weather wasn't perfect and so the solar powered hot water ran out a couple of times but nothing to worry about!
Summary: A perfect getaway in a peaceful place. I would definitely recommend it.
