Travel Purpose: business
Positive: The Kaiseki Dinner that was delivered to the house by a nearby Ryokan and was very generous as well as delicious. The Inn is beautifully restored and equipped with everything. The best gadget is the sake dispenser that allows you to taste all the delicious sakes from the brewery (Owner of the Inn) Only guests of the Inn have the option to visit the sake brewery, which we enjoyed very much. The owners sister is very fluent in English and the very friendly staff gave us all the explanations
Negative: The breakfast was surprisingly poor. The variety of packed bread was already in the kitchen at the day of arrival and apparently had to last for two nights. A little bit of jam and butter, some yogurt, some bacon and eggs, all in the fridge. No fruit, or juice/milk or other fresh options. If we would have been forewarned, then we would have done some shopping before arrival. The contrast to the dinner was very strong. The handover of the key was a bit complicated, since we were told to come to the nearby cafe of the brewery, to find out that it was closed and after a 15min wait with no answer to our messages and no phone number available, we went to the nearby sake brewery, shortly before end of business hours and were lucky to establish contact.
