This unique windmill is considered to be one of the oldest and largest on the island, and is located in the posh area of Kounrouros in an extraordinary estate of 4.000 s.m. The Athenian owners acquired it in the early 80s as a vacation home for them and their children. As time was passing by and the family was growing bigger, new house units were constructed adjacent to the windmill with the sole purpose of providing residents with comfort and privacy. The villa covers a total area of 250 s.m. and can accommodate up to 12 guests in 4 independent housing units:
Windmill
The ground floor of the Windmill features a cozy round sitting room with a fireplace and a w/c. Adjacent there is another sitting area with all modern amenities, like TV, CD player and A/C, and next to it a fully equipped kitchen together with a useful storeroom.
The layouts of the first and second floor of the windmill are identical, each one with a double bedroom, en suite bathroom,A/C and outstanding panoramic sea views
Master bedroom
The master bedroom features a comfortable king size bed (1.80 m) with en suite bathroom, A/C, TV and a ceiling fun. Located on the ground level, it is adjacent to the main house but is also accessible via a separate entrance.
Guest House 1
On the same level as the main house, this totally independent unit encompasses two double beds (1.40 m), en suite bathroom and is equipped with A/C.
Guest House 2
Situated ten or so exterior steps behind and above the main unit, it offers complete privacy. It contains a super king bed (1.90), en suite bathroom, A/C, a writing desk and a sofa bed suitable for one more guest.
All housing units have immediate access to the stone tiled wide verandas and enjoy spectacular panoramic sea views across the azure Aegean Sea. The villa's exterior is very spacious, with a lot of lounging and sitting areas under traditional style pergolas. Olive trees, Mediterranean bushes, plenty of bougainvilleas and a plethora of indigenous plants surround the buildings and the verandas and form beautiful landscapes.
Besides the windmill, what makes this property one of a kind is the 16-meter sea water swimming pool, where much of the summer-life takes place. Situated one level below the main house, it features outdoor spaces with comfortable sunbeds, a sitting area, an outdoor shower and BBQ area. Last but not least, a beautiful pebble beach with crystal clear waters is easily accessible within a 5-minute walk from the villa. For those seeking more adventure, 5 minutes away by car lies the cosmopolitan beach of Koundouros with a beach bar and restaurants, and next to it, the beach of Koundouraki, the center for water sports and scuba diving.
