Corfu is teeming with UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including the Old Town of Corfu itself, which boasts a sublime mixture of Venetian and British architecture due to the many times it’s been repaired since the Venetian rule prior to the 18th century. Meanwhile, Paleopolis, or ancient Corfu, was an important trading post but is now a fascinating set of ruins well worth a visit, alongside the Monument of Menecrates.
