What We Love
An authentic Tennessee experience awaits at this original 1950s farmhouse, beautifully situated on the grounds of historic Tarwater Farm. Once featured on an episode of The Heartland Series, this 175-acre working timber farm is steeped in local history, home to a sawmill, a firewood processor, and a tradition of producing sorghum molasses that dates back over 150 years.
Tarwater Farm has long occupied this stretch of Chapman Highway just outside Sevierville's city limits - ever since the Tarwater family built their first home on the land in 1850. Within a three-mile drive, you'll find the restaurants and shops of historic downtown Sevierville, Soaky Mountain Waterpark, and Wilderness at the Smokies. Pigeon Forge (eight miles), Dollywood (eight miles), and Great Smoky Mountains National Park (16 miles) are close by as well.
This cottage is immersed in the farm's daily activities, with lumber from the sawmill even being used in recent renovations. There are three porches adjoining the house, allowing you to take in scenes of the farm as you sip your morning coffee, barbecue on the gas grill in the afternoons, and soak in the hot tub at night.
The renovated interior brings a modern touch to a classic setting, offering an open layout, central air conditioning, and large windows at every turn. Enjoy a polished kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a dining area for family meals and board games, and TVs in the living room and both wood-paneled bedrooms.
House Rules
We respectfully ask that guests observe farm activities from the cottage yard and not breech the farm road for their safety.
Check-in time: 4:00 PM.
Check-out time: 10:00 AM.
All guests shall abide by Vacasa's good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity. Quiet hours are from 10:00 PM to 8:00 AM.
No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.
