About this space
The Saks House was Built Up to Wind Down. Soak in the stone stepped country stream Or the new hot tub. Our traditional country home will dazzle guests with modern finishes complemented by touches of nature. Great base for hiking adventures or fine dining in nearby Salem or Roanoke. Our property also features spacious rooms & gardens with a full kitchen and dining areas making for ideal family vacations or weekend escapes. And yes, there is a man cave.
The space
The Stonebridge Cottage next door can be rented for additional space (2BR 1BA). Fishing, boating or swimming available along our custom stone-built canal (catch and release only). Creek-side firepit. Multiple decks for outdoor dining. Hot tub. Koi pond. Boxwood gardens with private creek access. Yard and field space for games and events. There really is too much to mention. The property is filled with great social spaces for larger group events balanced with private hideaways for introverted reading or quiet times.
Guest access
Our property has on-site, private parking for 5-6 cars comfortably. You are welcome to explore anywhere on the 4 acre property just don't drive on the grass and please be respectful of guests (or owners) that may be staying in the guest house.
Other things to note
The Saks House is located about 50 yards from our guest house (Stonebridge Cottage) which will likely be reserved to other guests if not reserved by your party. Although the creek shoreline is shared, each house has its own designated yard and private waterfront areas which are visible to adjacent properties including the glider port across the creek. All guests are encouraged to be considerate of guests and neighbors who may be using the waterfront but most of the time it will feel secluded. We have a two-night minimum for all guests.
