We are a privately owned 45-acre property committed to preserving the land and its surroundings, which has been in our family for the past four decades. The Lodge is conveniently located in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, overlooking the scenic Cherry Valley near the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area. We are within a reasonable driving distance of major cities – Philadelphia, New York City, CT, etc. The Lodge is perfectly situated for you to enjoy all the activities the Pocono Mountains have to offer.

Summary: We LOVED the location and the outdoor space, but the interior had many faults. The biggest problem was that the downstairs with 2 of the 3 bedrooms smelled like a littler box. My son and I are allergic to cats and had respiratory problems starting on the first night. The problems would go away when we were out of the house all day hiking or canoeing, and would return at night. We ended up leaving a day early due to breathing problem There were numerous smaller problems. The microwave did not work at all. We investigated quite a bit (we are engineers) and finally contacted the host. She said it was a known problem and needed replacing, yet it was not mentioned in her introductory email that week with instructions on check-in. We were also informed by her a few days before the trip started that we needed to bring all our own sheets and towels. This wasn't written anywhere in the listing. I went back and checked. We did bring sheets for all listed bed sizes and the full-size sheets didn't fit the bed. The mattress was extra deep and there was a pillow topper that prevented our fitted sheet from fitting. We ended up using extra top-sheets we had fortunately brought. The house is very dark at night. There are a ton of beautiful windows and lots of light during the day, but there are few lamps, and ALL the lamps have low-wattage bulbs. We struggled to see small details like knitting or reading in the evening. With modern bulbs it is VERY cheap to use brighter bulbs.
