The Space:
Originally built in 1953, The Chilterns (also known as the house on stilts), which was engineered by one of Harry Seidler's associates, was the most talked about building in the entire of Sydney due to its gravity defying architecture. It was the first residential flat building of its kind and one of the first examples of French modernism in Australia, to believe it was built in a time when there was no scientific evidence to suggest smoking was unhealthy is unbelievable.

Located in a prime position across from the renowned “The Boat House” restaurant and cafe, and 500m away from the first international airport in Australia, now world class restaurant Catalinas. Go for a walk or bike ride down the promenade and feel the serene vibe coming off of the streets lined with mature green leafy trees and the soft bobbing of the boats on the marina.
Getting Around:
Prime position, just a 500m walk to the ferry wharf or a 50m walk to the bus stop. Or drive from New South Head Road straight into the city (10 mins) or to Bondi Beach (8 min).
Other Things to Note:
The building is located on a main road, so please bear in mind there may be a little bit of ambient car tire noise, we don’t find it obtrusive but have had one guest mention it.
