Positive: + Spotlessly clean apartment! + Modern style minimalistic furnishings, color-coordinated design + Memory foam mattress (a bit stiff) + Very quiet, aside from some dog barking in the evening; no noise from neighbors despite an infant in the apartment across the hallway (good soundproofing) + Balcony with greenery views and a peaceful cemetery + New building, construction finished within the last few years + Solid dining table in the kitchen, great for doing laptop work + Fast digi Internet (over 200 Mpbs down & 400Mbps up, 5ms ping) + Elevator works well + Pool in the complex + Good Megaimage grocery store within ~2 minutes walk, (don't go to the nearby Lidl)
Negative: - Far from everything. 30 minutes drive to Bucharest center (Cismigiu Park), 20 at night with zero traffic. 40 - 50 RON with Bolt per ride, so ~+$20 per round-trip. If you go to the city often, you might consider a more centrally-located place that's within $20 more expensive per day. - Common but unfortunate (silly) Romanian interior design choices: the shower glass divider is too short, so you'll splash water on the bathroom floor (guaranteed), the cutlery drawer is inside another drawer you have to open every time you want to grab a utensil (and you also have to twist your wrist, because the outer drawer opens from the above, but the inner one from below) - No vent in the bathroom - The split A/C worked but was wired incorrectly so if it's on, then the bedroom light is also always on. - No insect mesh. If you open the window in the kitchen to work on your laptop at the desk, insects may fly in. - The kitchen has only ONE power outlet, above the counter. No power outlet anywhere elso, so you'll have to step over the power cord connecting your laptop to that outlet. The recessed outlets in the counter aren't wired. - The kitchen chairs have thin cushioning, not suitable for extended sitting while doing laptop work - Internet gets very slow in the kitchen (4 Mbps down) due to a reinforced concrete wall between it and the router. I used my portable router as a repeater to solve this. - The gym nearby is automatic (no personnel) and doesn't accept foreign cards to sign up for a membership
