The beautiful, detached guest house Sport Rees is located in the heart of the mountain village of Hofsgrund at an altitude of 1100m, very idyllically surrounded by lush, green meadows. The Naturweier "Dobelsee" invites you to cool off on hot days. On not so nice days, the Schauinsland museum mine and our “Schniederlihof” farmhouse museum look forward to your visit. Or you can use those days for a wellness and sauna day in the Waldhotel Notschrei (5 minutes by car) or treat yourself to an extended, cozy breakfast in the hotel "Die Halde" with a panoramic view down into the valley from the Schauinsland. Furthermore, there are various thermal baths in Freiburg and Bad Krozingen that invite you to relax.
Many hiking routes can be explored from Hofsgrund: be it via the village's own herb path to the English Monument and then to the Schauinsland Tower to take the cable car to the Horben valley station. Or to hike to the surrounding mountains such as emergency cries, stubble and / or Feldberg and Belchen. You can also combine the hikes with public transport, which our guests can use for free with the cone card.
The bus stop is only 50m away from the house and the bus lines are well coordinated with the regional trains with connections in Kirchzarten.
