Positive: Pucci House is situated right in the centre of Watamu village. It's a super peaceful and tranquil place to stay, with a lovely garden, pool area and roof terrace. The room was big, with a lovely bathroom and comfortable bed, the decor was also very nice. The breakfast was served in the outdoor seating area and was excellent; fruit platter, granola, toast, juice, eggs and bacon. Alex and Pola are very helpful, offering advice on where to eat and what to do. There's also an excellent beauty salon in the grounds which do a great massage and other treatments.
Negative: The immediate area around the house takes some acclimatising! Watamu is quite intense when it comes to the touts and people generally following you asking you the classic 'where you from' and not leaving you alone. I had to go to the ATM a couple of times, and we also walked around for lunch and dinner, and we were always hassled. With that said, the boda boda (moto taxis) were very friendly and we got a couple of numbers and used them to go to dinner at the resorts further down the beach.
