Positive: For us it was Ideal for visiting family and friends. Bishop Auckland, Durham, Barnard Castle, all within easy short drives. Great area to explore. House is on a street of houses, outside the village. The pub and nearest shop are a drive away. Owners live next door so on hand for keys and anything else, the back garden is shared with them but sectioned for privacy. Parking is directly outside, with a few steps up to the Front door. (not obvious in the picture). Everything that you could want inside. Quirky vintage chic. Warm and cosy with additional electric fire for when heating is off. Plenty of hot water. Only used the main bedroom which was very comfortable. Stairs are steep and might be something to bear in mind.
Negative: Very little except that the smoke alarms are extremely sensitive and go off far too easily. One in the kitchen, hall way and lounge, probably a regulation with holiday let but even so. I only cooked bacon which set them off, and I was rushing for the keys to open the back door.
Summary: Home from home in the Durham dales.
