Casa Bougainvillea is situated in Parque do Moinho on the outskirts of Lagos.
Amenities close by:
Nearest shop: Both Aldi and Lidl are within walking distance about 10 minutes away ideal for that first shop.
Nearest restaurant: Piri Lampur is 3 miutes away down the hill, although it serves Portuguese its main clientele is English. Alternatively for more choice the lively town of Lagos is a 25 minutes walk, walk around the traditional cobbled streets and take your pick from national to international cuisine.
Nearest beach: The Meia Praia is an hours walk away but only 10 minutes in the car. The beach is supervised throughout the summer months and there is a selection of beach bars/restaurants along the beautiful white dunes. A variety of water sports are also available.
This lovely one story villa with air-conditioning / heating and its own private pool is within walking distance of Lagos town (approximately 20-30 minutes walk or a short bus journey). Just around the corner you have a welcoming cafe/restaurant serving meals and drinks all day.
The villa comprises of a comfortably furnished lounge and dining room with a log burning fire and patio doors leading out onto the pool terraces overlooking the private, shaped swimming pool.
The living area is furnished with ample seating for the whole family and a sofa that converts into a double bed, there is also satellite TV and a CD player.
There are two bedrooms none double master room with en-suite and the second bedroom with twin beds and use of the second bathroom.
The new kitchen has been well equipped with a dishwasher, fridge, cooker, washing machine and all the usual cooking utensils.
Stairs lead up the outside of the villa to the roof terrace where there are some lovely views towards the mountains at Monchique and glimpses of the sea at Lagos and Porto do Mos.
The lovely free formed swimming pool with heating available is surrounded by a sunbathing terrace well equipped with sunloungers and outdoor dining furniture. The built in BBQ and outside furniture is perfect for some al-fresco dining.
The villa is situated on the hill above Lagos, the centre of the historic town of Lagos with its cobbled sidewalks and colourful market square, offers a large variety of restaurants, bars, cafes, shopping and markets. This cosmopolitan town offers its guests everything. The golden sandy beach of Meia Praia is only a 5-10 minute drive, with a variety of water sports activities available. Palmares, Boa Vista and Penina Golf Courses are a 5 to 15 minute drive away. For the children there are a variety of water parks and theme parks within a 30-minute drive

Summary: We have booked a 2 weeks holyday after almost 2 yrs without one. Is our 4th time in Portugal and we never been so disappointed as now. We decided to try a more expensive property and was expecting some kind of a premium accommodation. Unfortunately besides the swimming pool and air conditioning everything else was on a poor state. Even swimming pool had a lose light hanging on a wire that was always on my mind that could give us an electric shock. Now let me expand what why we were so disappointed: 1. ants---you can't believe the amount of them...everywhere, if you drop as much as a crumb on the floor you will have hundreds of them and I don't exaggerate/ They had some ants spray on the site but that doesn't make it up 2. smell from one of the toilets was absolutely vile....it smelled like sewers, we end up staying away just to avoid the smell... 3. squeaking beds on children's room--poor guys couldn't even move in beds as they were awake the hole house...my youngest end up sleeping on the sofa in the main room 4. parking--- nightmare as due to high kerbs and steep entrance we couldn't park inside the property and end up looking for spaces on the street. 5. all appliances leak, every day we had to wipe under the fridge and dishwasher as well, outside table had to be fixed everyday as legs keep coming out all felt worn out and cheap 6. as I mentioned before light on the swimming pool hanging about a wire 7. old stile TV...can't log in on net flix/amazon prime or any other So overall for the money we payed and expectation we had we were extremely disappointed. I woudn't recomand this property to anyone.
