Summary: Luis and Veronica have a very special place, and they are the nicest and most attentive hosts. They welcomed us warmly and told us about the local beaches and recommended local turtle guides, so we got to see some of the Olive Ridleys lay eggs! They even helped us with our special needs (laundry and when a flat tire)! The family tree house is such a unique structure, we loved staying in it. We saw many interesting animals right outside of our door from the porch. The rooms are super clean and very comfortable, and they get cleaned every day while you are there. You can walk to the Ostional Refuge easily in just a few minutes. One thing to know is that this is not really a swimming beach. It's nice to walk on, but the waves are large and if you get lucky and there is an arribada, then I heard they close the beach to protect the turtles. If you have a car then there are many gorgeous beaches within about a 20 minute drive. There are a couple of simple restaurants and an ice cream place within a few minutes walk, and a mini supermarket about 10 minutes drive away. The road leading to the lodge is unpaved and pretty bumpy, but not steep so we didn't actually need to use our 4-wheel drive during our time there. So, if you want to be somewhere quiet and authentic, with super nice people, then definitely go here!
