This is a fascinating area to explore. Visit the nearby port of Burtonport and take a ferry to the surrounding islands, follow one of the marked walking trails in Annagry, both just 4 miles away. Budding golfers can play a round or two at the nearby scenic 9 hole course. Amenities are close at hand too, there's a village shop, pub and restaurant within a mile of the property, ideal for picking up your day to day provisions or stopping off for a pub lunch.
Take a day out and explore the stunningly beautiful Glenveagh National Park. This remote wilderness of native oak woodlands, gin clear lakes, waterfalls and mountains is Irelands second largest National Park. Sitting on the shores of Lough Veagh is the beautiful Glenveagh Castle is a former hunting lodge dating back to the late 19th century. This whole area of National Park is home to some interesting flora and fauna as well as red deer, bats and otters.
