Summary: I indicated that I booked a room for myself and I was asked more than once by the woman at the front desk if I had pets. I denied having pets but I was given the middle of the three rooms directly above the office just to make sure. I observed activity that consistently mirrored my movements and sounds in all hours of the night. It’s like these people retaliated with sounds of their own like I’m the one who chose to sleep above where they clearly live full time. If you want to feel like you might be being watched but definitely monitored, stay in that room. They’ll make intentional sounds that’ll sound like someone is behind the fridge in the kitchenette. It’s creepy as hell and does not honor any reasonable expectation of privacy so I made it a point to make it just as bad of an experience for them. I stayed up all night and made it extra weird for these control freaks. I’d stay there again just to look these people in the face and challenge them to put me above them again or to make me feel like my privacy was breached again.
