Surrounded by olive, fruit groves and Mediterranean gardens in the southern Salento landscape, this luxury villa near Lecce is a modern interpretation of both classic Italian and Greek expressionism.
Constructed of local stone and marble, the main building consists of a spacious living room and lounge, a dining area that seats ten, and a semi-open, fully equipped kitchen, all with large sliding glass that opens out to both sides the pool and gardens. The villa offers four bedrooms for 2 persons each. The two larger rooms have en-suite bathrooms and walk-in closets. The two smaller bedrooms share a third bathroom and a large cupboard in the hallway. Each bedroom is equipped with an individually adjustable air-conditioning unit that works silently within the drop ceiling. From each room, there are large sliding windows leading outside.
The air-conditioned main part of the building consists of a spacious living room with sofas and comfortable lounge chairs. The large windows look out to the pool area and the surrounding greens. Next to the dining table, a sliding window leads to the outside dining area and to the small spice garden that looks to the East. It is particularly suitable for breakfast in the sunrise and dinner in the shadow of the building. In the living room, there is a Yamaha e-piano and a selection of books available for our guests.
To the West, it leads to the pool, the pool bar and the lounge. The heated 14x7 metre biological pool is recessed into the marble paved floor and has a maximum depth of 1.40 metres. The spacious grounds include a bar and grill area with dining space, a changing room and outdoor shower and bathroom at the back of the pool area and stairs that lead to the roof top terrace overlooking the surrounding fields and the village of Martano.
You can sample the bounty from the more than one hundred fruit trees including lemons, oranges, figs, pomegranate, pears and cherries as well as the edible native cactus figs that populate the land.
