Positive: Our communication with the host, Johan, was excellent from the time of booking and throughout our stay. He was very kind , thorough and shared lots of information about the area. The house is huge with a total of 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms which can accomodate upto 16 peope. The teenagers loved the games room on the top floor which has a pool table and lounge area. We particulary loved the living room and dining room area (seats 10-12 comfortably) which is super cosy , underfloor heating keeps it toasty during the cold winter months with an additional wood burner and it overlooks a lovely garden. The top floor bedroom and games room have electric heaters which you will need to pre-heat the rooms as it is cold up there during the winter but they are sufficient. The kitchen is super equipped and has everything that you need, a home from home really. A very peaceful location away from the hustle and bustle of the city, toasting marchmallows, family board games and star gazing. Shops and restaurants are a 8-10 minute drive and there's a lovely hike closeby around the lake at Neufchateau.
Negative: I don't actually want to say anything negative because we had such a lovely stay here. Only one thing that I would comment on are the beds in the top floor bedroom, the matresses are on the thin side and it's not so comfortable but there are plenty of extra duvets for you to put underneath the fitted sheet to make it more comfy. But honestly, apart from that, everything was perfect.
