Summary: I want to give this property 5 stars because of the amazing location but too many things were wrong. Let me start with the pros: •location is fantastic, lake view is gorgeous!! •inside of the house was very clean (except shower curtain, see below) •beds comfortable •charging ports in each bedroom Now the cons: •the dock was not installed for our trip so couldn’t use the waterfront for fishing, kayaking, etc. The owner told me he would try to get it installed on day two of our stay. This did not happen and wasn’t communicated •hot tub water was green and full of bugs and could not be used •upstairs jet tub out of order •walkway to waterfront overgrown with weeds •outside of house not maintained - spider webs/dirt around the front door, stairs to upstairs in disrepair, balcony railings loose and wobbly, grill covers on the ground in back yard, water pooling in front of the main entrance •shower curtain covered in mildew •dishes in dishwasher from prior guests •returned from breakfast to find a painter in the house. This was not communicated. I read all the reviews prior to booking this rental and I’m not sure what happened between the last review and my visit, but it seems the house wasn’t opened properly for the season. The unavailability of crucial amenities were not communicated. The listing reads “hot tub and private dock” neither of which were available which is completely unfair and is quite frankly false advertising. I feel duped.
