Summary: Vacasa is not locally owned (they are out of Oregon), and it is unclear who to call for issues. Communication from them about things pertaining to the house are minimal to nonexistent. We enjoyed our stay, the house was comfortable, but updates are needed. There is an elevator, which was extremely helpful for the older folks in our group. The rooms are laid out so that there is privacy for all guests. Perhaps also note that this stretch of beach seems to be having the most erosion issues along the Outer Banks. We were still able to find lovely spots on the beach and loved every minute, but hard to predict how it will be in subsequent years. I love Rodanthe, so that may not scare me away, but it is certainly something to consider when planning your stay.
