3 Bedroom House with View, Sports and Wellness Facilities
This newly completely renovated lake home down to the studs with new roof, windows, doors, electrical, HVAC, appliances, hardwood floors throughout, new bathrooms, beautiful master bath, & shiplap ceilings. An expansive view of the lake with one of the largest docks (aren't allowed to be as large anymore) with 2 boat slips and a new jet ski lift. A fantastic place to make those priceless family memories. Also, perfect for work-from-home or remote learning with the fastest WiFi on the lake (up to 200Mbits / second).
Acorn Landing features magnificent landscaping with a fire pit and a beautiful walkway to the boathouse. The night sky is incredible and you'll love looking for shooting stars.
Access to Hyco Lake and the boathouse is an easy & mostly flat walk to the shoreline. The boathouse deck has 4 comfy chaise lounges plus a shaded area with chairs and a loveseat and features ceiling fans, Sonos Bluetooth speaker and TV for your dockside entertainment! Out on the water, you and the kids can test out the water pad, noodles, 2 kayaks, 2 paddleboards and fishing poles too--there are two ladders for easy lake access! We also can help coordinate an optional boat rental, see below for details! With over 160 miles of shoreline to explore, your stay is not complete without a boat.
The home is built to entertain! Inside there are plenty of card & board games, Legos, & art supplies, outdoors we have a washers game, outdoor Yahtzee & jarts games. There is a flat-screen TV in the main living area, as well as in each bedroom and in the lower level rec room. All TVs have Roku--bring your own Netflix, Amazon or other cable accounts. WiFi internet is included. The backyard has a fire pit to roast your hotdogs and marshmallows or you can just enjoy the fire with the gorgeous lake as a backdrop.
A wrap-around porch upstairs offers an amazing lake view. There is a shaded porch downstairs with a hanging porch bed if you want to relax or take a nap.
Guests enjoy plenty of space to have their meals. Cook something up in the kitchen or fire up the propane grill! There are three dining tables on the main floor, one in the eat-in area (6 people + 3 more at the island), a deckside picnic table (4 people), and a large table on the back deck overlooking the water (8 people). Our kitchen is stocked with basic dry goods & spices, dishes, silverware, pots & pans plus plenty of serving and bakeware to fit your needs. We also have a brand new booster seat for your little ones.
Winding down for the night---there is plenty of room to sleep comfortably! Acorn Landing has 6 beds that sleep 8. See below for more details on sleeping/bedroom arrangements. We also have a brand new pack and play sleeper.
Main floor -
Master: King bed with private bathroom (and a Pack & Play)

Bedroom 2: 4 twin beds (2-day beds with pull-out trundles).
Lower Level -

Common area: Pull-out couch (converts into a queen) and air mattresses available
All the lake house essentials are covered! Linens and bath/lake towels are also included to make your stay easy. Washer/dryer unit with soap available downstairs for cleanup. Stay cool - AC and ceiling fans in every room.
Acorn Landing is located on Hyco Lake which is an easy 68-mile drive North from Downtown Raleigh (44 miles N of Durham).

Accessibility:
There are no steps from the driveway to the main level of the house, master bedroom, living room, and kitchen. The lot is not too steep but there are stairs and steps to get to the dock.
Optional Boat Rental:
We partner with Hyco Boat Rentals and they have pontoon boats available for rent. The boats come with lifejackets. Let us know if you are interested and we will help coordinate/provide more information if there is availability.
Boat renters should have previous boating experience and will receive an orientation and safety lesson from the team.

We do not allow pets.
The neighbors allow their dogs to peacefully wander the neighborhood. If they come by Acorn Landing please do not feed them or let them into the house. They are very cute and friendly, however, please resist the urge to feed them and let them into the home.
We want to note that the house is in a lake-front neighborhood with both full-time residents and vacation homes with seasonal residents. Most neighbors are friendly, respectful, and keep to themselves while enjoying the lake. One neighbor is not as friendly and may attempt to interact with you in a negative manner from their property. We want to make you aware of this and we recommend you ignore the neighbor if they make any attempt to interact with you.
Due to insurance restrictions use of the water trampoline is not allowed for Acorn Landing Guests.
Outside music is not permitted past 8pm. Please respect our neighbors' peace and privacy as this is their year round home.
Use of the kayaks, paddle-boards, and other water toys is at guests' own risk and liability.
Our house is in a rural location and has well water. Some guests may notice a sulfur smell when running the water. This is not unusual for well water and is more common when the house has not been occupied a few days.
We have a ring doorbell camera, a camera facing the driveway, a camera facing the dock, and a camera facing the back of the house. We don't actively monitor the cameras and respect our guests' privacy.
Acorn Landing is close to Virginia International Raceway, Hyco Marina, Jibtopia, Bar 119, Roxboro Country Club, and other area attractions. Feel free to ask us for any other local information.
There are two owner's closets that are locked. One on the main floor in the hallway and one at the upstairs bedroom. The fridge at the dock is locked and not available for guest use.
While we don’t require you to start a load of towels, it really helps us out because of the Covid timing restrictions, and it may let the next guests check-in early.
