The Hayloft is a three bedroom cottage, located just 10 miles from golden sands of Saltburn-by-the-Sea. A great base for a peaceful break with family and friends, the property is rural and secluded, yet close enough to the coast so you can enjoy the best of both worlds. There is a private hot tub for you to enjoy, whilst the views of the North York Moors National Park will make you feel like you're truly in nature. The Hayloft is also dog friendly too!
The Space:
The living and dining room is a traditional space where you can wind down after a long day. It is a bright room that also features a log-burning fire and has a flat-screen Smart TV. The generously sized wooden dining table is great for enjoying a meal with your family and friends.
The kitchen at The Hayloft is fitted with modern appliances, ideal for a self-catering countryside retreat. With light grey cupboards and wooden worktops, a warm feeling is felt in the cottage’s kitchen area.
You will have great nights of sleep in each of the three bedrooms at The Hayloft. The first bedroom is a comfy and peaceful spot furnished with nature-themed furnishings. Located on the ground floor, this room has an ensuite shower room.
The second bedroom is a spacious twin room with bedside tables, lamps, and a separate seating area with a TV for when you're feeling lazy and want to kick back with a cuppa. The third bedroom is also a twin room, which is well-suited for kids and teenagers. It has ample space to keep your belongings out of the way during your stay. The beds in both of the twin rooms can be merged together upon request.
The Hayloft’s fully enclosed garden is the perfect place to relax in the company of your four-legged best friend. There is a BBQ and a seating area, so you can dine alfresco while soaking up the beauty of the garden. The garden also has a private hot tub with a pergola and lighting, which is great for winding down and enjoying the great outdoors while admiring the beautiful countryside views.
From December 3rd until January 1st, The Hayloft will be decorated for Christmas.
The Hayloft is located within the same site as The Byre, a two bedroom cottage. Together the cottages can sleep 10 guests in total. Please contact our friendly team if you are travelling in a larger party and wish to enquire about availability for both cottages.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the full property which is accessed with keys provided in a key safe. Details on this will be provided prior to your stay.
Private on-site parking is available for three vehicles. There are no electric vehicle facilities and charging from internal sockets is not permitted.
Please note that the property is accessed via a farm track from the main road.
Guests should be aware that one of the twin bedrooms has a large wooden beam running the width of the room at shin height, so this room may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. Please see the images for reference.
The Neighborhood:
The Hayloft is located in the village of Grinkle, 10-miles from the charming Victorian Spa town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea on the North Yorkshire coast.
In Saltburn, take the oldest functioning cliff lift in the UK down to the promenade and you’ll arrive at the 208-metre pier which stretches out into the sea. The promenade has numerous shops, takeaways, cafes, restaurants, and the Pier’s amusement arcade for the kids. The long sandy shores are overlooked by colourful boutique beach huts and high cliffs tower in the distance.
Saltburn has plenty of beautiful walks too. The Valley Gardens are a maze of paths and tracks which wind through the flowers and woodland. If you want to explore further, The Cleveland Way National Trail is over 100 miles long and the lovely Saltburn is featured. If you fancy a 17.5 mile jaunt, start at Saltburn and walk your way to Sandsend. This walk is a great way to explore the North Yorkshire coastline and the views are beautiful!
Getting Around:
The Hayloft is within a 25-minute drive of all that Saltburn has to offer and within 30 minutes’ drive time of Staithes, Whitby, Middlesbrough and the North York Moors National Park.
Saltburn Train Station has routes to Longbeck, Redcar, Middlesbrough and Darlington with connecting trains to Newcastle, York, Leeds, Manchester and London.
