Positive: What can I say? Well…to start off with this establishment is aptly named. It is precisely that—a hidden gem. The photo of the tastefully decorated room together with a rate that suited my budget is what prompted my tentative booking. I needn’t have been so cautious. I arrived luggage-less, cold, exhausted and 10 hours late because of flight delays. Vicky staved off the dodgy “taxi” driver that brought me from the airport , received me with a warm welcome and showed me to a cosy, spotlessly clean well arranged room that exceeded my expectations. So at least one thing on my nightmare journey ended with a huge positive. My late arrival meant we had to confirm the booking the following morning. All the details of my stay were settled from a comfy sofa in front of a toasty log fire. The garden views are delightful with interesting planting (including cactus and succulent beds. There’s even a garden swing. And if you’re a tree lover as I am you’ll feel as though you’re in heaven—there is an abundance of trees!
Negative: There were a few negatives mainly due to the fact that it is wintertime—and I had flown in from tropical West Africa. So my room felt quite cold although heated. The bathroom was especially cold as it didn’t have a heater but there was plenty of very hot water.
Summary: Great value for money—highly recommended. Already telling friends. It deserves five stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
