Positive: Hafod Boeth is a characterful cottage in a lovely secluded setting, yet only a short drive to Caernarvon. The beds were very comfortable and Craig, the owner, was very quick to respond and resolve any issues we had during our stay. The kitchen is very well equipped too, with a microwave, air fryer etc It was a nice touch to have been left with a welcome in the form of milk, biscuits and scones. Thanks Craig!
Negative: The heating is remotely controlled by the owner and only comes on at scheduled times (once in the morning, once in the evening). If it's cold weather, which it was during our stay, you must rely on a couple of portable electric heaters for warmth. This is less than ideal, as after a cold day out and about you really do need some heat in the house. Unfortunately there is no flexibility to be able to put the heating on yourself, other than message the owner and ask him to do it remotely. One evening the heating did not come on at all until I phoned the owner. The thermostat in the loft had shut down the hearing. This probably all works ok in the Summer but not Autumn/Winter. There are also far too many technical gizmos in the property for the average person, with Alexa controlling the lights individually. This is a somewhat tortuous process when for most people I feel they would just like to switch on a light, it's not so difficult! Overall, we loved our time there, so I hope Craig will take the above as constructive points that I feel will further enhance the experience of Hafod Boeth
