Walking through the cobbled streets of the village is a delight. Not only is there a timeless, peaceful atmosphere throughout, but you can take a sub-conscious history lesson as you walk. The coloured ceramic tiles which decorate the village tell the story of Comares’ place in Spanish history since the 3rd century BC. The remaining ruins of the huge Moors fortress of Comares tells a little of the story itself, but there is little remaining.
There are a handful of fantastic bars in Comares, a couple of exceptional restaurants and many doorstep stalls selling local wine, raisins, almonds, olives, honey and cheese.
