In Hte Maurienne Vanoise, at 1420 m altitude, furnished lodging, NON SMOKING, label 3 *, of 65 m2, being able to accomodate up to 6 adults, located on the 2nd floor of an old farm completely restored, including another gite on the 1st floor. Very sunny exposure: East, South and West. Mountain and valley view. Served by a departmental road all year round. Located 7 km from the hut of Orgère (National Park of Vavoise) land of marmots, ibex and other wildlife and between 10 and 15 km from the ski resorts of Orelle-Val Thorens, Valfrejus, La Norma and Aussois. Dream sector for cycling enthusiasts (many passes), hikers and history lovers (archaeological sites and many forts ...) For fans of thrills via ferrata, tree climbing and many zip lines including one of 640m which is the longest in the world ....

Summary: Property ended up being an excellent fit. We were six adults, which was crowded but still worked out well for us. Two slept on pull out sofa bed. The place was in a beautiful location and very practical. Really loved the garage parking and the radiant heating through the floors. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was well stocked with utensils, and having dishwasher, cloth washer, and drier were huge pluses for us. Some minor surprises for us, which is probably more of a cultural issue: 1) shower is only hand held, 2) one needs to sign off on a 3 page inventory of 100s of items upon arrival (we just signed and host did not charge us for a couple plates we broke and towel we damaged), 3) no disposable items provided including toilet paper, garbage bags, soap, detergent, spices, cooking supplies, etc, so expect to do major shopping immediately upon arrival, and 4) garbage needs to be brought to bins 2.4 km away from the house. None of these things ended up being a big deal though and overall we loved the place. Host was super responsive and helpful. Would definitely return if in area.
