We were honored to be one of Vermonts most popular rental cabins! Don’t be alarmed by the lack of reviews! We do our bookings on that other major platform. Check us out over there if you want to see our 300 or so great reviews! We recently listed our home here again, but it’s been off of VRBO for a long time! This avoids double bookings!!
If you are looking for cozy ya just found it! Nestled under a mountain & down a beautiful old farm road! Fernando’s Cabin (our original equine office) has horses just over the fence, a babbling brook in spring, and a partial view of Stratton! You will fall in love with this special spot as you relax in the hammock and chill! Wander and hike our trails and even pick some apples! We are a 3min dirt road drive to Magic Mountain where REAL east coast skiing goes down!!! 100 yards away we have a new sauna & a beautiful hot tub!

The cabin has a real VT vibe…
Wood, wood & more wood! It’s calming, and comfortable and very close to the mountain! The hot tub is literally 2O yards away and looks out on horses and Stratton mountain with the setting sun behind!! The sauna is another 40 yards away with views of our pond!! The hammock is 10 yards from the cabin and and has the same view of frolicking horses and beautiful mountains!! We have a lovely fire pit so you can do s’mores right after the hot tub! Just remember to bring marshmallows because the grocery store closes early!!! Put your fire out all the way before bedtime please.
Centrally located within 10min to a BIG grocery store, awesome butcher shop, hardware store, and pharmacy. We are sandwiched between VT’s finest ski mountains so take your pick!! Fernando’s is a hidden gem and is often described as being the most relaxing, romantic, and cozy cabins EVER!!! What could be better
than falling asleep in the trees and waking
up to birds singing around you or in winter to a pristine layer of fresh pow!!
A FEW IMPORTANT THINGS…
Our cleaning and linen fee is there to allow our cleaning lady to fully disinfect, clean, do laundry, fold linens and get the bathrooms and kitchen to sparkle. If you are the kind of person who understands all that goes into prepping a cabin with limited time for the following guest...Well, we want you! We have increased our prices just a bit to adjust to all the crazy changes in cleanings, gas, travel, and building materials.
If you are the kind of person will write a bad review because of the cleaning fee and what is STILL expected of you to do on check-out...Well, PLEASE skip this cabin. Airbnb has etiquette that is very different from hotels. YOU are expected to do A LOT to return the cabin to how you found it. This prepares the space so our cleaning lady can be efficient and do a proper disinfecting without picking up your food bits. It takes everything we've got to get the cabins ready for you by 3pm so please understand the struggle.
READ CAREFULLY:
We have many rules you will be asked to sign on arrival. Note the reviews where they say I have "gone overboard on these." I do this because I was in a 2 year lawsuit over guests who invited all their friends off the beach onto my houseboat and sank it. I lost 2 years fighting this and 2 more rebuilding. I almost went broke because “I didn’t have my rules clearly visible.” Does it go without saying that you don’t invite all your fiends on a floating vessel? Yes, it does…But apparently I actually needed to say that and the reservation being capped at 10 “this is not a party boat” was not enough;) So now you understand why our endless rules are actually NEEDED.
Guest use the ladder accessing the loft at their own risk. There IS some climbing to be done in getting into the upper loft bed so if you are older or have an injury preventing you from using ladders ya might want to check out our other cabins instead.
PETS (dogs only please) You must pick up after them!!! We have a pet fee for the additional cleaning that is required.
We love our animals at Bent Apple Farm, but ALL our property damage has been a result of pets. We only allow dogs and we do charge a 150 dollar pet fee to cover and damages and additional cleaning. Dogs must be crate trained and can not come to the property without one. It is your responsibility to NEVER leave your pup unattended in the cabin even for trip to the grocery store. This is not not like a hotel that has a special room for pets! If your dog is not brushed well, with nails clipped, it will do significant damage to our cabin. If your dog is a chewer please leave him behind. You dog must be trained to not jump on beds or furniture or he/she must stay home:(
Be very cautious during hunting season to keep your pup close. At night/dusk be sure your dog is with you as we have coyotes and hawks and owls and even bears in VT. It is a risk you must be willing to assume if you desire to bring your dog. Everyone says they have a “good, well behaved dog” but do you really in a new and strange environment? Think twice before you put you pup in a bad position and can’t have the vacation you deserve.
This is your space and your space only. DO NOT attempt to bring guests or even bother asking if they can come too. They are not allowed. The only 2 people allowed to this listing are the ones on the reservation. Now that’s out of the way…please DO enjoy this little hideaway! I am happy to host you and not nearly as grumpy as I sound if you just respect our home and rules!
If you are looking for total isolation skip it. Our home and another cabin is not too far off so you will see other folks, and you will hear me out on the tractor and you WILL for sure get an unsolicited visit from our black lab:) Most people find it a very remote setting, but for others who want total isolation it’s not that!
We are just off the back side of Magic Mountain! This is East Coasts best steep and deep skiing…Shhhhh that’s a secret! This perfect little escape speaks cozy! From the flannel sheets to the vintage furniture and the big brass bed. Wake up to a view of the horses, woods, chirping birds, and a babbling brook:) Take a shower in the cutest bathroom in the world. Brew your morning coffee (bent apple brew) while you look out to the fresh snow! Double burner hot plate, fridge and a microwave should meet you basic cooking needs. This house is situated on a quiet dirt road with some of Vermonts most scenic farmhouses and views. Enjoy, dog sledding, cheese making, sleigh rides and local eateries from our friends all minutes away! The Village Grocery is located 10 min from the house for all your shopping needs. Viking nordic center is just a 4 min drive if ya like big groomed woodsy trails and a traditional old school vibe with a hot chocolate experience!!! You can also xcountry or snowshoe all throughout our property!
Sauna & Hot Tub…
You have full access to our sauna and hot tub! Just keep in mind it is a shared space so you will need to let our other guests use it too! We don’t want to overlap guests so be respectful our other guests might want a turn. Head down the little road past your cabin and turn right into the riding ring and you have found the hot tub…Keep walking past the hot tub and you will come to the sauna! Text me to set up a time so nobody disturbs your session!
HOT TUB GUIDELINES:
• YOU ARE USING THE HOT TUB AT YOUR OWN RISK
- PREGNANT WOMEN. PERSONS WITH HEART DISEASE. DIABETES OR HIGH
BLOOD PRESSURE PROBLEMS AND ELDERLY PEOPLE SHOULD NOT USE A HOTTUB OR SPA WITHOUT A DOCTOR'S PERMISSION.
• WE DO NOT ADVISE YOUNG CHILDREN TO USE THE HOT TUB.

USE SAUNA AT YOUR OWN RISK

1. The use of drugs, medication or alcohol prior to or during the sauna session may lead to dizziness or unconsciousness.
2. Please consult your physician if you are in doubt of your ability to use sauna.
3. No guests under the age of 18 are permitted in the sauna unless accompanied by
a parent, legal guardian, or supervising and consenting adult.
4. Please discontinue the use of the sauna if you feel light-headed, dizzy, or heat
exhausted.
5. Sauna sessions should be limited to a maximum of 40 minutes at one time.
The Pond:
Swim and ice skate your own risk!
Please ask Ben if you can use the pond as sometimes it will not be available if the white farmhouse is rented)
• At no time is there a lifeguard on duty, you (the renter) are responsible for the safe operation of the pond and are responsible for all persons in your group using the pond during your stay.
• My use of the pond facilities during my stay involves certain risks, including but not limited to:
1. The risk of injuries resulting from tripping or falling over obstacles in the pond area;
2.The risk of injuries resulting from unsupervised divers and swimmers and skaters colliding;
4. The risk of other injuries resulting from participating in any action in the pond or on the ice in winter.
5. I recognize and fully understand that the above list is not a complete or exhaustive list of all possible
risks; the list only provides examples of types of risks that I am assuming.
Kitchen: We have a hot plate set up so it’s not a full kitchen...We have you covered on dish ware but think of Fernandos as get up and make yourself an egg and toast kind of a place. This isn’t the cabin for Thanksgiving dinner! That said, I have seen people get very creative on a double hot plate!
A 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicle is suggested for snow and muddy spring! We have plenty of parking and motorcycles are welcome! Ask Ben about farms and ice cream!
