Negative: Regarding the stay in this apartment, there is an issue with entering the building where the apartment is located. There is no staff to open the door when you ring the intercom, so you will be standing in front of the building until someone happens to enter or exit. This happened once during the day (when someone quickly passed by and we used the opportunity to get in) and again in the evening at 9:30 PM when we returned from the city. I stood in front of the building for half an hour with two children, other rooms in the apartment were occupied, but no one was willing to let us in. I called the owners without success—no one answered. I dared to ring the intercom of the neighbors, but they were very rude and uncivilized (9:30 PM is not late and it's not midnight). In the end, after persistent ringing, someone opened the door. I reached out to the owners via WhatsApp, and instead of an apology (which would be in line with good business practices), I received a long and quite impolite response. The link they sent does state that you should ring the intercom, but there are no instructions on what to do if no one answers and how to enter the building. Trieste is a lovely city, but I will be avoiding this apartment. For the money I am paying, I expect that access to the apartment should be available at any time of day or night and that I should not depend on someone else's goodwill to open the door. Also, be prepared for the elevator to be out of service and that you will have to carry your luggage up the stairs to the second floor (which was also not mentioned anywhere).
