This is the nicest campground bathroom you'll ever see, with live edge countertops and new fixtures everywhere. It actually smells _good_ if you can believe that. And while the bath house is a shared space, don't worry about it being crowded--it gets minimal use because our campground is small and many of our guests will be staying in cabins with their own bathrooms. The bath house has 3 clean, private showers with gloriously hot water to help you unwind. This cabin is located at the recently renovated campground which is on-site at the Desert of Maine, a nearly 100-year-old tourist attraction located in Freeport. The Desert is 40 acres of rolling sand dunes in the middle of a lush Maine forest, a natural phenomenon created during the last ice age. The tourist attraction includes fascinating exhibits about the history, ecology, geology of the Desert, activities for kids, a train ride, and much more. The campground is nothing if not quiet and serene. All of the cabins face out to our beautiful woods filled with tall, northern pines. Although there are other cabins in the campground, you have plenty of space to feel like you are disconnecting from your busy life and reconnecting with yourself. Come to the place Where Wanderers Unwind.ACCESSYou will have the entire cabin on a dedicated campsite, all to yourself. In addition, you will have access to our renovated, cedar bath house which is just steps away, with individual showers.NOTESThe cabins are insulated and include a portable heater/AC unit so you should be able to make it comfortable no matter what the temperature is outside! ADDITIONAL RULES - The campground is a quiet, serene place. Please act accordingly.- Quiet Hours are from to 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. Guests arriving or departing during quiet hours, should pretend the campground is filled with light-sleeping, hardened street fighters who just start scrapping when they are awoken. If someone is not respecting quiet hours, please call or text us. Guests who violate our quiet hours policy will be given one warning. After the first warning, they will be asked to leave.- All vehicles must park at their assigned site or in designated parking areas. Do not block the road or prevent access to other sites. Additional vehicle parking is available in the larger parking lot near the entrance to the campground.- Drive slowly (10 mph max) within the campground.- We love dogs. We accept all scruffy-duffy boys and girls (i.e. well-behaved dogs) regardless of breed. Other types of pets are not allowed. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times and must not be left unattended. Unfortunately, dogs who bark too much are probably stressed out by the camping experience so we will have to ask their owners to help them calm down or take them back home. Guests must clean up after their dog(s).- Alcohol is permitted within assigned sites for guests of legal drinking age. Do not take alcohol outside the assigned site. Please do not get out of control or you will be asked to leave.- Campfires are only permitted in the provided fire rings. Do not leave fires unattended. Do not move the fire rings.
