Our Victorian farmhouse has been respectfully upgraded to provide a modern and comfortable stay yet retaining many period features with outdoor dining and access to River Teviot that runs along the bottom of our garden.
Colterscleuch House is located in the beautiful Teviot Valley amidst a rural farming community, yet only 10 mins from the nearest town of Hawick. The house comfortably sleeps 10 people.
The location is ideal for exploring all of the Scottish and English Borderlands. The Lothians and Scotland's capital, Edinburgh, are also within striking distance and the new Waverley Line allows you to take a beautiful train journey to the city while avoiding traffic and parking charges. Northumberland, Cumbria and the Lake District are an easy drive.
Colterscleuch House has been refurbished to provide modern comfortable living yet it keeps its Victorian charm and features. We enjoy providing a warm welcome to guests taking the whole house to enjoy and relax in.
There are 5 large bedrooms each sleeping two people. Three of the bedrooms have generous en suite bathrooms, each with underfloor heating, large enamel bath and powerful shower over the bath. There is one shower room downstairs with electric shower. All bedrooms are on the first floor, accessed via stairs with a banister on one side.

Downstairs living has a large dining room with table setaing ten, original shutters on the windows, a large lounge with original window shutters and open fire, TV and BluRay/DVD player, a large collection of DVDs and games.
The large modern farmhouse kitchen has a twin hob, double fan ovens, American style fridge freezer, wine cooler, dishwasher, microwave and it is well equipped with pots, pans and crockery. It is perfect for catering for groups. There is also a laundry room with washing machines and tumble dryers.
All bed linens and towels are supplied. If you require a change of linens during your stay, there may be an additional charge for this.
Wi-fi is free and unlimited. As we are rural, our broadband is not superfast. Streaming movies and playing games consoles with live streaming is not usually possible, especially at peak times or when multiple devices are connected to the Wi-Fi. We have an extensive collection of DVDs to enjoy during your stay.
Central heating and hot water are supplied by our 'green energy' biomass boiler and are included in the cost of your rental. Together with our new double glazing, the house is cosy and more environmentally friendly all year round.
There is plenty of off road private parking space for multiple vehicles. We have a large decking area built under the trees overlooking the River Teviot.
Cycles and outdoor equipment can be stored in the carport at the rear of the house.
Our large Victorian gardens are full of birds and wild life. We deliberately leave some areas wild to encourage life to thrive around us. We will top up the bird feeders around the house at the start of your stay for you to enjoy the many species which will visit you.
