Located in Lugon et L’Ile du Carny and surrounded by the estate vineyards AOC Bordeaux, Château de La Vieille Chapelle is a 12th-Century Roman Chapel offering a garden and terrace with a direct view on the Dordogne river. Free wine tasting of selected wines from the estate is offered every evening from 18:30. Wine tasting activities are also possible in Saint-Emilion, a 30-minute drive. All rooms are fitted out of the old chapel ruins with direct access to the garden and feature a heated tiled floor, a wardrobe, a large bed and an private bathroom with a walk-in shower. They are decorated with a light Asian touch, in soft shades with linen curtains and sheets. One of the rooms is adjusted to welcome disabled people. A continental breakfast with homemade jam and French pastries is provided each morning. A sitting room with tea, coffee, kettle, wine glasses and wine tasting gear, as well as books on the area are at your disposal. Travel Purpose: leisure
Positive: The wine tour was fantastic and the general location of the property by the river side. But most importantly it is general ambiance around the property, the vineyards en route, the breakfast and dinner options were good. Overall I'd highly recommend this property and will definitely be returning to it.
Negative: The property does get warm in the summer months and so an A/C would be good upgrade but am only nitpicking here. The evenings especially by the river side is generally cool.
