If you want a little more hustle and bustle, you can sit in one of the numerous cafes in Sao Marthino (approx. 2.5 km) and watch the goings-on on the beach or watch the surfers at the Farol (lighthouse) in Nazaré (approx. 8 km).
The shell-shaped bay on the Costa de Prata in Sao Martinho do Porto with its beautiful sandy beach is very suitable for swimming with children because it is relatively shallow in the water and the waves are not as high as e.g. B. at Selgado Beach directly on the Atlantic.
The area around Sao Martinho has a lot to offer. It is only about 100 km to Lisbon and Porto is also worth a trip to taste the port wine. With a little luck you can see flamingos in the Lagoa de Obidos or use one of the numerous water sports.
