Positive: There was plenty of space: a sizeable kitchen with a pantry and well-stocked with kitchen utensils, cookware, and appliances. The bathroom was large and included a washing machine, which saved us many trips to a laundromat. The bed was comfortable, and there was a large built-in wardrobe with lots of space to hang clothes, as well as drawers. The living area was very large, and each room had an ac/heating unit. The host was very quick to respond to questions or help we needed, and it was a short drive into Vila Real and not far from the highway. And also a nice view of the city and mountains.
Negative: This wasn’t a problem with the apartment and not the fault of the host, but just a problem with street signage, which is an issue in Portugal -- approaching from the highway there isn't a street sign visible for Rua dos Lopes, and it's a very narrow "street" (more like a driveway), so it's easy to miss.
