Breathtaking River View/Cozy Log Cabin | Cabin in Galax, VA

Charming log cabin with stunning views of the New River & a relaxing fire pit next to the river. Pictures do not capture how peaceful and beautiful it is. Walk/bike the New River Trail right across the bridge (1⁄2 mile away). Rent a bike, canoe, kayak or tube from New River Outdoor Adventures right across the bridge. The charming town of Fries is a 2 mile drive & accessible via the New River Trail. A trip down the New River from the Fries New River Park to the cabin is a 2 hour float.
The space
The rooms on the entry level of the cabin include;
- A living room with a leather sofa and sofa chair, coffee table, 42" TV connected to Dish Network satellite; Wi-Fi is provided through US Cellular.
- A kitchen with a smooth surface electric range, over-the-range microwave oven, french door/bottom freezer refrigerator, dishwasher and drip coffee maker (ground coffee, creamers, sugar/sweeteners, disposable coffee cups, lids, stirrers are provided).
- The kitchen is also equipped with heavy bottom cookware, baking pans, mixing bowls, cooking utensils, drinking & wine glasses, flatware, and white porcelain china dinnerware (8 place setting including dinner and salad plates, bowls, cups/saucers, cream/sugar and 2 china serving dishes).
- A bedroom overlooking the river with a queen bed, large walk-in closet, dresser and an armoire. Bed linens are provided, with extra pillows and blankets in the armoire.
- A full bath with double sinks, walk-in shower, toilet, and linen closet. Towels, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion and soap provided.
- A laundrette with side by side washer/dryer, and cleaning supplies (vacuum, broom, dust pan, mop/bucket and toolbox.)
The lower level studio suite includes;
- A king sized bed (bed linens provided),
- A sitting area with patio doors that open out to the river, sofa, sofa chair, coffee table, 42” tv and dresser,
- Two large wardrobes,
- A kitchenette with cabinets, sink, refrigerator, microwave, table and 4 chairs,
- A full bath with a tub shower, toilet, and sink, and
- A separate sitting area with patio doors opening out to the river.
The loft contains a sofa, queen sized bed and 3 twin mattresses (arranged end to end) that form a long daybed under the window (bed linens provided).
A relaxing deck runs the length of the riverside of the cabin and wraps around the south side to the front porch. A concrete patio runs along the length of the lower level, river side of the cabin with patio furniture and a charcoal grill and smoker. Wide steps with a gentle slope leads from the cabin down to the river and the fire pit. The fire pit is circled by 6 Adirondack chairs and 4 side tables. Fire wood, kindling, and lighter provided.

Other things to note
The Riverside Deli/Convenience store, the New River Outdoor Adventures and the New River Trail are all located right across the bridge just ½ mile away and can be seen from the cabin. A takeout menu for the Riverside Deli is provided. Bikes, canoes, kayaks and tubes are available for rent from New River Outdoor adventures.
The small town of Fries is 2 mile drive and can also be access via the New River Trail. Start your New River journey from the Fries New River Picnic Area access and spend about 2 hours floating down the river.
The Cabin is 10 minutes from the town of Galax and Creek Bottom Brewery, 15 minutes to the Blue Ridge Parkway and 18 minutes to I-77.
