West Indian cottage is a small yet special one bedroom, near-beach romantic retreat for couples seeking time away together in Seaside proper. Just two minutes from private Gulf beach access at gated Odessa Pavilion and only five minutes walk from all the dining and retail amenities of Seaside town center, this compact cottage affords the ultimate constellation of location, privacy and amenities. And, unlike most other rentals in Seaside, a stay at West Indian cottage offers dedicated off street parking for your vehicle for the duration of your stay.
Guest bookings March through November 2024 include two beach chairs and an umbrella setup at no additional charge for each full-day of your stay by Cabana Man, Seaside's exclusive beach concierge.
When you are not headed directly to the beach, you have an access pass to three private swimming pools (one just a block away), six tennis courts, three pickleball courts (court bookings required and hourly fees apply), and a private fitness center. Bicycles are available for daily rental.
Your food and wine interests are met with a collage of well regarded local restaurants within walking distance, and the on-demand delight of the fast-food vendors daily on Seaside Airstream row. A fifteen minute drive expands your culinary compass to nearly 100 restaurant choices, ranging from beachy casual to five star, eight course degustation dining.
Our fee concept is flexible and transparent. You will see the complete cost of your stay including all fees and taxes before starting to provide your details for booking. And, if you prefer to dial in or dial out certain options such as pool and fitness center access, please contact us, as we can adjust these in your booking.

A stackable washer and dryer completes the main level.

- Upstairs is a queen bed with smart tv, outdoor Juliette balcony and ensuite bathroom with walk-in shower

This cottage is ideal for couples only. There is an easily accessed spiral timber staircase to the second floor, but be aware this architectural feature is not appropriate for small children, pets or mobility impaired guests. Please reach out to us if you have any questions about this feature.
The property is non-smoking, and golf carts are not allowed in the Seaside residential area without prior medical requirement arrangements. A complement of bed linens and bath towels are included (no beach towels).

Summary: A few things to note that my husband and I wish we knew ahead of time. Although included in images and listed as an accommodation, there are no bikes available at the property for use. If you want to use a bike during your stay, you MUST rent it ahead of your arrival along with your beach chairs, etc. You are only given 2 rolls of toilet paper for your entire stay. We contacted the office after we ran out the day before our last, and was informed we are only given 2 rolls and if we needed more we had to buy them. Upon arrival I was dealing with a runny nose, no tissues are at the home so I was unknowingly using our limited toilet paper stash to blow my nose. This rental does not give the cozy VRBO feeling you get when renting someone’s entire home and not what I have experienced with other VRBO rentals. The check out process was the final annoyance of our stay. You are to respond to an email saying what time you are checking out. You then get a text message that you just respond with the same details and lastly, the check out sheet in the home demands you text a number to confirm that in fact, you have checked out. Unnecessary and was one of those touches that created more of an annoyance when just one text when checking out should suffice their needs. Home was clean, great location, happy the bikes didn’t work out for us as there were way too many little kids riding their bikes around. Would not say it’s a good honeymoon location, but close to beach.
