Summary: We had a lovely time in Salida, skiing powder days at Monarch, walking into town for good eats, hiking straight from the house to the top of the hill we could see from the living room and back, with a stop for hot pizza and cold beer on the way back. We did cook in the kitchen a few times and found it well-stocked and easy to use, e.g. oil, spices, pots, pans, plenty of plates, bowls, and silverware all available. Of note, it was relatively convenient to plug in our car via 120V outlet next to the driveway, which was a nice plus for us. Putting an extra 15 or 20 kWh in the car overnight meant we didn't need to spend as much time hunting a charger. We had an issue with the hot water, which the host had preemptively warned us about the week before, but we successfully got hot showers using the trick the host told us to try. I'd want to confirm with the hosts, but I think you might also be able to park a short trailer in the driveway (e.g. raft on short neck trailer), which isn't always easy to find. We would gladly stay again.
